Illustration for Studio Re, a study on auspicious symbology made for an internal project about protection and abundance.
The illustration was commissioned as a good luck wish, to be sent to the Agency's main clients at the beginning of the New Year. According to a strong simbology Every main subject has been inspired by medieval minatures.
The Wheel of fortune, or Rota Fortunae, is an ancient symbol of the capricious nature of Fate.
Here is depicted as a wish for good luck despite the events flow: the tree's branches contain all the four seasons in its leaves, and its branches are made of water, to represent life that flows.
It holds a spinning wheel, to which two men and two women are clinging, who pick a flower that slowly fades, but there will always be a chance to pick a fresh one.
The lovers are a wish for emotional stability. Their sleep is protected from intruders and rain by hands made of stone.
The Holy Grail is a wish of healing. The cup has a two-headed snake (which symbolizes renewal-the moon, and energy-the sun) bathing in a chalice, coexisting with the birds that drink there, who came black and gain new colors while drinking and absorbing new energy.
The final palette has been studied to bring out the Studio Re's magenta pantone on main subjects, without reducing his intensity.
